Using the PDF map as a guide, please park (drop-off) in/at the parking lot between the Off-Lease Dog Park and Extreme Sports Park (Skate Park). Coach Dave will meet all runners at the large, covered picnic shelter located near the Community Play area. Training at this location will include running a variety of intervals on the marked (with orange 12" cones) trail. The outside loop is approximately 1800m, with 1600m being dirt and compact gravel.

WHAT TO BRING/WEAR: Runners should attend dressed for the conditions wearing layers they can peal off as they get warm: shorts, sweat bottoms, shirt, long-sleeve shirt, windbreaker jacket, and possibly gloves and hat. Saturday BYTC Blast

Who: Open to all registered Whisper runners.

What: Beaverton Youth Track Classic track meet.

Where: Life Christian School, 5585 SW 209th Ave, Aloha, OR 97078

Registration: Please email Coach Dave to let him know that you would like your child to race in this event, being sure to include the event(s) your child would like to participate in. Please do this by midnight of Tuesday, May 20. All runners competing for Whisper must be on the official USATF and athletic.net rosters. Please see the team page for more information.

PARKING: Track entry - at the south of the school/church building. Parking is limited on site, so it will be first come first served. OVERFLOW parking is available to the North of the school in the Latter-Day Saints church lot 5175 SW 209th. If the overflow lot is full you will need to find street parking in the surrounding neighborhood. Please be respectful of our hosts and the neighbors.

INFIELD ACCESS - for Athletes, coaches and meet volunteers only. Spectators must remain outside of lane 8 of the track. 

TEAM TENTS/CANOPIES - Look for the Whisper canopy on the south side of the track.

Who: Registered runners preparing for the sprint track season (or XC season for Evergreen/Vancouver School District Middle School girls).

What: Sprint, middle-distance, and distance training.

When: We will aim to begin and end on-time. Runners coming from their school practice, be sure to have something light to eat between practices, and some water or Gatorade. For all others, be sure to have a snack between school and practice (water/Gatorade too).

Where: Fisher Basin Park (SE 192nd Ave, Camas, WA 98607). Upon driving into the parking lot, continue straight through the stop sign and park near the end of the lot.  We will meet along the sidewalk between the parking lot and the park. We will likely use the track at Shahala MS (depending on its availability). The track is on the north side of the portable buildings.

WHEN: Tentative race time is 4:30pm. They are only hosting the mile for grades 6, 7, and 8 (three separate races).

TRACK EVENTS: 8th grade mile, 7th grade mile, 7th grade mile.

Purpose? To bring awareness to reducing our plastic consumption and waste. USATF Oregon Youth Meet - Rex Putnam HS

WHO: Open to all registered Whisper runners

WHAT: USATF Oregon Youth Developmental Meet (click here for meet schedule, parking, concessions, etc.)

WHEN: Track events start at 10am, and the field events start at 9am. Unless this changes, Coach Dave will have the canopy set-up by 8:45am. Please have your child to the venue within 75-minutes of their first event so they have time to get their uniform, get their bib, relax, etc. Parents are welcome to come to the tent, but I prefer to place all race responsibilities onto the participants, regardless of age. From there, I will make sure everyone tending to their responsibilities (warm-ups, etc.) accordingly.

TRACK EVENTS:

  • 800m racewalk, 100m, 400m, 1500m, 80m Hurdles, 100m Hurdles, 110m Hurdles, 4x100m.

EASTER EGG HUNT! We will be performing a light workout or run at Pacific Park, then running to Countryside Park (no address, but you can click on the hyperlink, or use the home address across from Countryside Park and you’ll arrive at the correct location) for an Easter Egg Hunt. What to Bring/Wear: Runners should attend dressed for the conditions wearing layers they can peal off as they get warm: shorts, sweat bottoms, shirt, long-sleeve shirt, windbreaker jacket, and possibly gloves and hat. They should also bring a water, small snack, and any medicines/pharmaceuticals they might need (inhaler, EpiPen, etc.).

Tuesday - Fisher Basin Park (Shahala MS), 5:30-6:45pm

Who: Registered runners preparing for the sprint track season (or XC season for Evergreen/Vancouver School District Middle School girls).

What: Sprint, middle-distance, and distance training.

When: We will aim to begin and end on-time. Runners coming from their school practice, be sure to have something light to eat between practices, and some water or Gatorade. For all others, be sure to have a snack between school and practice (water/Gatorade too).

Where: Fisher Basin Park (SE 192nd Ave, Camas, WA 98607). Upon driving into the parking lot, continue straight through the stop sign and park near the end of the lot.  We will meet along the sidewalk between the parking lot and the park. We will likely use the track at Shahala MS (depending on its availability). The track is on the north side of the portable buildings.
