CCRC Turkey Trot

This run is one of the most popular club events of the year.  Not only is it a great course along side the Columbia River, you also have a chance to win a Turkey for Thanksgiving!  Definitely a race you will want to attend.

To read more about the Clark County Running Club, click here, or visit them on Facebook!

Those running in the USATF XC JO's in Woodland Park, Seattle, will not be able to make it to this race.  However, every Whisper Runner is definitely invited to attend and participate in this 5k.  CCRC does an incredible job of fostering fun, healthy, non-competitive events.  If you go, be sure to bring your family.  Most runners finish between 15-minutes and 35-minutes.

Cost: $2/person, per race, or $10/year per person, or $20/year per family.

Girlfriends Run for a Cure - Volunteer Opportunity!

Help support two great causes - WHY Racing's Girlfriends Run for a Cure Race, as well as Whisper Running, by volunteering at a water station or the Whisper Running Information booth.

WHISPER WATER STATION: Helping at the Whisper Water Station can be a great way to encourage runners through their race to the finish line.  Here, you'll be distributing water to runners and encouraging them to remain strong through the finish!  On a fun-o-meter, this ranks 8 out of 10 at it's peak (mid-race).

WHISPER INFORMATION BOOTH: Helping at the Whisper Information Booth will be a great opportunity to promote Whisper Running and it's program by talking with people who swing by the booth to inquire about Whisper Running.  You can hand out Whisper wristbands and stickers, and socialize with the locals.  On a fun-o-meter, this ranks 6 out of 10 at it's peak.

The location of the Water Station will be shared by WHY Racing in early October so more information will be coming soon.

Parents, depending on the logistics, you may have your child at the Water Station and you can choose whether to remain there with your child or come to the Info Booth.  Coach Dave will likely be at the Info Booth, and his wife, Kaci, and their two children, Madi and Grayson, will likely be holding up the fort at the Water Station.

Helping out at either location can be a great way to accumulate any required community service hours for your school, or possibly community service hours for the state, if you find yourself in a pinch (if applicible, talk with your PO about this fantastic opportunity).

More information to come as the date nears.
