WHO: Registered Whisper runners

WHAT: Intermediate & advanced middle distance and distance running training.

WHEN: Please drop your child off no earlier than 5-minutes before the scheduled start time.

WHERE: We will begin and end at the Hudson’s Bay High School Track. A headlamp will be encouraged once the nights begin to fall a little earlier, which is around mid-October. Other items to consider: a towel to dry off and keep your car from getting messy (sometimes the kids track in dirt from runs), and a waist belt that can carry a phone (if your child has a phone) in case they get lost (while it’s happened only twice in nine years, it does happen - for the record, the kids were fine, and they were back at the start/finish before the end of practice).

Pasta Feed, Foster Teen Gift Drive, White Elephant Gift Exchange, & BYO Gingerbread House

Join us for the Gingerbread House construction/destruction at Clark College in PUB 161 (Fireside Lounge - click here for a campus map.  Bring your unconstructed Gingerbread house to construct, nibble on, and take home!

GIFT DRIVE: The main purpose of this event is to show love toward children in the Foster Care system. We will have a toy and gift drive for Clark County children ages 10-17 who are presently in foster care or state custody. Though gifts for children under 10-years old are appreciated, we are encouraged to bring gifts for children who are in their teens. With several Whisper runners on the team who have been through state custody and/or the adoption process, and my father being adopted at birth, this is something that could really benefit those in physical and/or emotional need.

From Lindsay Griffin, Office Manager at WA St. Department of Children, Youth & Families, “A list of items typically requested from our teens:

  • Wireless earbuds

  • Bluetooth speakers

  • Hoodies Larger sizes (Nike has been requested most of the time)

  • Bath & Body sets/make up sets

  • Electric razor

  • Perfume/Cologne

  • Drones

  • LED lights”

Upon arrival, place your unwrapped gift on the donation table, and then find a place to dine and construct your Gingerbread House.

PASTA DINNER (5:30-6:00pm): Pasta and salad provided..
BYOGBH (6:00-6:45pm)
: Bring your unconstructed Gingerbread House. Costco, Michael’s, Target and Fred Meyer usually have Gingerbread Houses.

CLEAN: 6:45-7:00pm, grab some cleaning supplies and lend a hand!

WHITE ELEPHANT GIFT EXCHANGE (7:00-7:30pm): If your child would like to take part, please bring a wrapped <$5 (gift that costs less than $5) so the kids can play Secret Santa (same as White Elephant Gift Exchange?). I will have a few wrapped gifts in case you do not have time to shop for one. Keep it simple. Thanks!

If your child wishes to run in the Regional meet on November 22, please inform Coach Dave of their interest prior to November 7, so he can process registration correctly (there is a process for registering runners and non-runners).
