Parking: Using the PDF map as a guide, please park (drop-off) in/at the parking lot between the Off-Lease Dog Park and Extreme Sports Park (Skate Park).  Coach Dave will meet all runners at the large, covered picnic shelter located near the Community Play area.  Training at this location will include running a variety of intervals on the marked (with orange 12" cones) trail.  The outside loop is approximately 1800m, with 1600m being dirt and compact gravel.

Training Agenda: Cross-Country conditioning and preparation.  This practice will be led by Coach Bob Williams!

Parking: Round Lake is an extension of Lacamas Lake located east of SR 500/NE Everett St. in Camas, WA.  Heading north on SR 500 (NE Everett St.), take a right (now heading east) on NE 35th and you'll see a parking lot one-tenth of a mile ahead on the left (north side of the road) where you can drop off your child.  I will be on the sidewalk on the opposite side of the street.

Community Track Workout!

Who: Anybody with a body, come join Whisper Runners as we embark on a moderate speed-endurance interval workout.  Pace groups will be formed after waivers have been signed and everyone has checked-in.

Whisper Running will be volunteering at the WHY Racing Triathlon event at Blue Lake Park.  This is a 3-day event, however, we are scheduled to work only on Sunday at the Packet Pick-Up/T-Shirt Swap booth.  The position should be a fairly easy gig, and if we have enough volunteers, we should be able to come and go between the Whisper Running booth at the Expo, and the Packet Pick-Up/T-Shirt Swap booth.  Kids are encouraged to help out!

Thursday Training

Practice Location: We will meet at Union High School on the track.  I will be happy to answer any questions parents may have.  Once the session begins, we will train at one of the following locations:

  • Asphalt loop around Camas campus.
  • Union HS track.
  • Shahala MS track.
  • Lacamas Heritage Trail.
  • Skyridge MS track.
  • 1st St./Lake St..

Keep on trekkin'! Plus the Nike run!

Happy Spring Break! 

Please be sure to support your off-season efforts by putting in a few runs over Spring Break.  Consider partnering up with a teammate and running some local trails.  You may also consider attending the Nike Speed Run on Tuesday, April 4 at 6:34pm held at the Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton.  Both Kiley and Katelyn plan to attend and it would be great to hear of more Whisper Runners out there!  Nike does a great job of hosting a speed training run, with a community of runnersof all abilities attending, great music, and even a photographer!  Learn more at: http://web.nike.com/events/my_events/index.html#/discover
