Lake to Bay Volunteer Page

Thank you for volunteering your time for the Lake to Bay Relay! Volunteers are essential to ensuring a safe and fun event can be had by all! Lake to Bay begins at 7am and should finish around 7pm on Saturday, July 6, 2024. Most volunteer positions are in 3-4 hour segments, starting as early as 6am, and concluding 8pm. Volunteers may register for more than one volunteer position (segment), as long as they can make it to their second volunteer spot in time.

Considering being a volunteer, or already have a position in mind? See the information below that includes the most pertinent information that will make your day a success!

  • Volunteer Positions:

    • Exchange Monitors: Oversee incoming and outgoing runners, ensuring safety, and signing off teams as they pass through. Exchange Board, Course Packet (map included) and First Aid kid provided.

    • Course Monitors: Ensure runners continue along the course to the next exchange, safely crossing intersections, and abiding by pedestrian traffic laws.

    • Bike Course Monitors: To better oversee the safety of the runners, bicyclists are asked to ride along (behind or in front of) runners when necessary (example: near homeless encampments if present).
