New Fall Training Program

Begins September 1, 2025

Whisper cross-country is shaping up to be an exciting season, with fun races, great competition from around the PNW, and many new faces on the team! 

This fall, we will form three training groups to best prepare the team for post-season racing (USATF Junior Olympics) in November and December. While workouts will be dedicated to specific days of the week per group/program, runners are still encouraged to attend as often as they wish. On non-training

  • Fundamentals Program.

    • Workout Days: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 4:30-5:30pm.

    • Cover fundamental movements to enhance proprioception (balance, reaction time, coordination, etc.), build a fitness base to eventually advance to the Developmental Program. 9U runners could be eligible to race in some fall XC meets if and when they are ready.

  • Developmental Program.

    • Workout Days: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 5:30-6:45pm

    • Run with Teammates: Mondays & Wednesdays, 5:30-6:45pm

    • Runners committed to improving fitness, sport skills, and periodic racing, but not necessarily Junior Olympics.

  • Premier Program. Designed for capable and mature runners committed to racing, travel meets, and post-season Junior Olympics. Runners will be expected to:

    • Workout Days: Mondays & Wednesdays, 5:30-6:45pm

    • Run with Teammates: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 5:30-6:45pm

    • Includes runners committed to improving fitness, sport skills, and regular racing, including Junior Olympics.

If your child is in the Fundamentals or Developmental Program, but wishes to commit to the Performance Program, they must be, A) emotionally and physically ready, and B) be a very good teammate.  This means they must be attentive, committed toward improvement, have healthy eating and sleep schedules, and aspire to be the best runner they can be. Please inquire if your child wishes to train alongside a different group. 

If your child is interested in joining our program this fall, please complete the Contact, Runner Profile, and Waiver forms, and Coach Dave will reply within 24-hours.
