Bottoms Up!

The first time I truly felt any sense of nutrient deficiency was during one of a handful of Hood to Coast experiences in the early 2000’s.  After slugging through my final leg in 2009, which I believe was leg number 35, I found enough energy to b-line it to the team van where only bliss awaited me - a bowel of fruit and a bag of mixed nuts.  As my vision narrowed, nothing else mattered, I was locked in.  Door, open, food, mouth.  Within minutes, I could feel the cells of my body recalibrating to normalcy. 

Boston 2012 had a similar experience.  The heat was brutal – one of the top-10 hottest Boston Marathons in it’s 130 years.  As dialed-in as my nutrition and hydration were, nothing could have…see the Whisper Blog to continue reading.

Whisper Team Corner

The start of the 2026 club track season has been fire to say the least!  Following an amazing Wildwood Miles for Girls & Women event hosted by Wildwood Running, Whisper hosted its first annual Whisper Twilight on Saturday, March 14, which touted relays galore!  Three weeks later, the club traveled south to Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, for the Oregon Relays, where the milers and girls 4x400m team staked their claim as some of the best to come through the Whisper program. 

Whisper continued showcasing their best talents at the Sherwood Youth Club Meet, followed by the Rising Stars Classic.  So far this season, both boys and girls, sprinters and distance runners, are rewriting the record books, as over 25% of the top-10 performances in program history have come from the current 2026 team.
