Fall Training 2019
because training alone sucks!
As the days get shorter, cooler, and wetter, running alone can become quite grueling. Running with friends, teammates and runners from local schools can help get you out the door, train at higher intensities, and be a healthy, fun way to train. Additionally, training with Whisper may provide an opportunity to race in club events held throughout the Pacific Northwest, and possibly nationally. Information on competing with the Whisper team can be found on the team page. Contact Coach Dave with any further questions.
If you would like to register your child for fall training, he or she will need three things:
THIS FALL, we will offer training for distance runners in grades 5-8, and training for sprinters in grades 6-12. Because we will often be training in the dark, it is imperative that the runners remain together and with their event coach. Coaches are with the runners at all times, but if runners cannot keep up, or if you are unsure if your child can keep up with the group, then scheduling a 1-on-1 session, or multiple sessions, might be best in order to assess and build your child’s fitness and ability level. As you can see from the video at right (or below), the weekday training gets very dark in the fall months and we cannot have runners fall behind.
See the Calendar page to view training days, locations, and times. In general, our tentative fall training schedule is as follows:
Monday’s on the east side (Pacific Park or Round Lake), 5:30-6:45pm.
Thursday’s on the west side (Clark College/Hudson’s Bay HS), 5:30-6:45pm.
Saturday’s at Pacific Park, 8:30-10:30am.

Please see the team page to complete these steps. These are the same steps for registering your child with the team, however if your child would like to run for team Whisper, then the Whisper registration must be completed as well, which is found on the team page.
