This is a tough one…Ripley, above, is the daughter of Erik Anderson, a Mountain View HS (Vancouver, WA) graduate who I had the pleasure of coaching with in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. After having two daughters, Erik tragically passed away during a work-related accident at Spokane Community College. Erik was a man of great character and integrity, so much so, that he still has two college track meets that honor his name - one at Linfield, the other at Spokane CC. Erik’s daughter, Ripley, was in a serious car accident on December 4, and she is currently receiving care in southern California, where she was in school at Chapman University, and taking part of an internship at Disneyland. The Facebook page, Team Ripley, provides nightly updates on her condition. It sounds like she and her family are in for long-term care following the accident which left Ripley with several broken bones and a TBI, and is being cared for through a feeding tube, breathing tube, and amazing physicians.
