The Halloween Dash Bash saw record fun and record numbers at the fourth annual event at Pacific Park on Saturday, October 25. The course, lined with over 220 pumpkins, is flat and fast, as evident by the winning time of 11:59 in the boys 4k race. In addition to the 750 pieces of candy distributed on race day, the top 15 runners from each race earned a Halloween finisher medal, winners earned a fleece custom Halloween blanket, and Whisper parents provided post-race treats for more than 500 runners! Incredible! Teamwise, Whisper Running had a record 84 runners participating in the 2025 event, which included teams from Seattle, Spokane, and the Portland-metro. To the runners delight, the anticipated atmospheric river held off, allowing most of the morning races to be run with only dew on the ground and a festive spirit in the air. One week later, Whisper Running closed the regular season at the Stumptown Youth XC Championship meet in Monmouth, Oregon, with a small contingent of 20 runners participating in this spectacular meet. The highlight of the day were the boys and girls Super Champs races, with 13 girls besting the coveted 11-minute barrier, and 21 boys running sub-10. All total at Stumptown, Whisper had two season best times, and 12 personal records, providing a nice confidence booster heading into Junior Olympics.
